Kids Delighted With New KidVenture Gallery

May 17, 2004 - Shouts of "Wow!" "Cool!" and most of all, "My turn!" could be heard above the din throughout EAA AirVenture Museum's grand opening of its new KidVenture Gallery on Saturday, May 15. The new museum section provides numerous hands-on exhibits and displays to teach kids about aviation, like balloon and hang glider simulators; radio-controlled airplane; the Bernoulli Blower - a blast of directed air that raises a rubber ball to demonstrate lift; a do-it-yourself rocket fuel mixture exhibit, at which users mix and detonate their own fuel; plus several others.

"My husband is up north fishing, so I decided to bring my two kids here," said Marta Stoffel, Neenah, Wisconsin. As daughter, Kara, played with the Bernoulli Blower, she said, "This is really awesome!"
EAA staff was on hand to help demonstrate the various exhibits, but most kids seemed to take right to them without hesitation. Attendance was strong throughout the opening weekend-about twice the normal turnout. That was especially true on Saturday at which Nickelodeon TV's Jimmy Neutron appeared. Kids of all ages were able to meet, greet, and pose for pictures with the popular cartoon character.
KidVenture Gallery is included with regular museum admission. EAA members are admitted free with their EAA membership card, and non-members can join at the admission desk.
