April 4, 2007 - EAA's vintage 1929 Ford Tri-Motor, one of the finest examples of America's first mass-produced airliner, will head out on tour in June and July to seven midwestern cities. The mini-tour begins June 7-10 at Elkhart, Indiana's Municipal Airport and concludes July 6-8 at Dane County Regional Airport in Madison, Wisconsin. The Tri-Motor (NC8407) will then be flown back to Oshkosh to prepare for the World's Greatest Aviation Celebration, EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2007.

Nicknamed the "Tin Goose," the airplane underwent a meticulous 12-year restoration by EAA beginning in the late 1970s. Since completed, the airplane has been based at EAA's historic Pioneer Airport, the re-created aerodrome of the 1920s and 1930s.
Cost to "Fly the Ford" is $40 for EAA members and $50 for non-EAA members. A secure flight-reservation system and complete tour information are available through EAA's Tri-Motor tour website, www.flytheford.org.
